Erik Mitchell is the Audrey Geisel University Librarian at UC San Diego. Prior to UC San Diego he served as an AUL at Berkeley. He has also held positions at the University of Maryland, College Park and Wake Forest University.

He holds a PhD in Information and Library Science from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, a MLIS from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Arts from Lenoir Ryne College.
